Mattress & Sleep Product Comparisons

Some links here are affiliate links. We earn a commission if you buy through them. The recommendation at the end of every comparison is the recommendation we would give a friend – the commission has no say in it. More on how we test: how we test.

By the time most people land on a comparison post, they have already decided both beds are pretty good. They just need somebody to break the tie.

That is what this section does. Reviews tell you what something is. Comparisons tell you which one to pick.

How we set these up:

  • Same testers. Same body weights. Same sleep positions. Same room temperature.
  • Same testing window where possible. (When it is not possible – because brand B did not exist yet when we tested brand A – we say so.)
  • A specific recommendation at the end. Not “they are both great in their own way.” If you sleep hot, pick X. If your partner moves like a hooked trout, pick Y.

The honest limit: not every comparison is a true side-by-side. Some are between products we owned at different times, in different rooms, sometimes in different countries. Direct beats sequential, but not every brand sends a second review unit on request. We flag the difference whenever it is relevant.

If you are still in the “do I want foam or springs in the first place” stage, start with the material comparisons further down the page. Those answer the structural question before you start picking between brands.

Brand-versus-brand head-to-heads.

More to come.

Material comparisons

Less about specific brands, more about the building blocks. Read these first if you do not know whether you want foam, hybrid, latex, or springs.

To be written: latex vs. memory foam, hybrid vs. all-foam, gel-infused vs. standard memory foam.

How to choose between two beds

A short evergreen guide on the framework we use when buying without sleeping on either: weight class, sleep position, partner motion, temperature regulation, return policy. Coming soon – link to /how-to-compare-mattresses/ once written.
